This substack exists to support women's wellbeing and create community around menstrual cycle awareness, mindfulness, movement and radical self care.

Hi! My name is Karen and I am a certified menstrual cycle coach and women’s hormone health advocate. I help women reconnect with and heal their body so they can reclaim their vitality and radiance.

Using tools like body literacy, menstrual cycle awareness, lifestyle, nutrition, embodiment, and mindfulness, I guide women to connect with their body's cyclic nature and educate them about their hormones to help them uncover patterns within their unique physiology.

This clarity helps them advocate for their health and wellbeing with greater confidence, understand the strengths + vulnerabilities within their menstrual cycle experience, and start to live with more harmony and ease.


What you’ll find here

These are some of the topics/opinions I will be writing about on this substack:

  • Health - specifically as it relates to women’s health and hormones. I may also touch on metabolic health, gut health, biohacking, my self-experiments and any other learnings/insights I feel may be interesting or useful to share. I naturally have a very analytical mind thanks to my background as a web developer so my pragmatic, problem-solving nature feeds into my approach when it comes to health.

  • Nutrition - I make no secret about being an omnivore with ancestral/paleo influences. I believe in prioritising protein for healthy hormones and metabolism and am a big fan of grass-fed red meat & eggs. I also believe in the super power benefits of cruciferous vegetables and polyphenols. (And coffee. I am definitely a coffee lover.)

  • Movement & exercise - I firmly believe in the power of moving our bodies, not just from a health perspective but also as a way to connect with and nourish our hearts and minds. Embodiment is the state of being in your body and one of the best ways to access this is through movement combined with mindfulness.

  • Life lessons & insights - I have done a lot of personal work and have been on my own self-development journey since 2015. There are many insights, experience, lessons I have to share about my journey - which of course is ongoing!

  • My creativity, passions & interests - As a neurodivergent woman, I definitely go into phases of being super passionate about a particular topic or interest and dive all in - which naturally will come out in my writing. I’m also a creative soul with many creative outlets which I would like to speak about more here.

Some of these articles will be public but some of the more personal or educational ones will be paywalled.

I am a British-born, Aussie-raised, Chinese neurodivergent woman and child-free by choice.

Having been a blogger since the early 2000s, I’ve always loved authentically sharing my thoughts, musings, moments of personal growth, observations, creativity, rants and opinions. I am also an introvert (ISFP), yet still deeply crave community and connection - which is one of the reasons for creating this substack community!

Currently I’m obsessed with sauna + cold plunging, ancestral living + nutrition, fantasy/sci-fi books & movies, and salsa dancing. 💃🏻
