It’s been just a few weeks since my last post, yet it feels like it has been a few months. Life has definitely kept me on my toes over the past few weeks. What do they say again.. when it rains, it pours?
In recent weeks I have:
Injured my left shoulder (bursitis — very painful — do not recommend!)
Mourned the passing of my aunt (whose funeral I will be attending on Tuesday).
Gotten sick again (unusual for me but I’m always more prone to illness after injuries as being in pain / healing from an injury is majorly stressful on the body — but of course I’ve been implementing my Cold Care Protocol).
Endured a full-blown thrush outbreak (so, so itchy 😩) but I managed to heal it naturally (what’s the point of all my training if I don’t put it into practice on myself, eh?)
Had my first short 23-day cycle (yep… stress sure does a number on your menstrual cycle!)
Experienced a migraine flare-up off the back of my injury and being sick.

I’ve had a lot of experience with pain and injuries over my lifetime, largely due to a condition I was born with called Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. I plan to delve deeper into this topic in a future post, but I touched on it briefly in the instagram post below.
My condition has made me very flexible (and great at certain things) but also MUCH more prone to injury, pain and dysfunction. I believe I’ve averaged 5 - 8 incidences per year where I’ve needed to see a health specialist of some sort — such as a physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor, acupuncturist, functional nutritionist, cardiologist, neurologist, rheumatologist and even audiovestibular physician (which I’d never heard of until I needed to see them for recurrent issues with vertigo)!
This challenging personal health journey has fuelled my passion for learning all I can about health and how to proactively optimise it, and set me on the path to becoming a hormone health coach.
Pain is a powerful motivator!
And this condition — despite being labeled a chronic disorder — has even given me a deep sense of empowerment and self-advocacy. The realisation that I can figure this shit out. That so many of these issues are actually within my power to change, improve, or manage more effectively through natural means.
Uncovering the root cause of pain has been a lifelong drive, fuelled by my love for being active. Because moving my body brings me so much joy.
A friend I was speaking with recently mentioned that I seem excited when I talk about my health issues — as if I get a kick out of solving them. I guess that’s true.
I feel a deep sense of satisfaction when I solve a health problem because it reinforces the idea that we have a lot more control over our health outcomes than we’ve been lead to believe.
This desire to understand the root cause of health issues is what led me to pursue my hormone health coaching certification, rooted in functional medicine — a modern approach that focuses on addressing the root cause of health problems and views the body as an interconnected whole rather than isolated parts.
This same desire also inspired me to create Rise — a transformative six-week program designed for women who are ready to optimise their hormones and say goodbye to period problems by uncovering and addressing their root causes.
I’ll be sharing SO much actionable, life-changing information in this program. If you attended my Foundations for Healthy Hormones workshop a few weeks ago, consider that just a small taste of what these six weeks have in store!
Registrations are now officially open! 🤩 Click the link below to learn more about Rise and join me on this journey.
Finally.. I’ll leave you with this happy little video snippet taken the day after I held my Hormone Foundations workshop — I took myself out to celebrate and went pre-christmas skating under gorgeous blue skies and sunshine. A snippet of pure joy! ⛸️💖✨
